About Me

Let's Get Aquainted

This blog came out  from my experiences of how excited my facebook friends would be every time I posted a photo of my cooking.  In fact I have received comments telling me to start a cooking blog for some time now.  My friends chose the name Bournes2Cook (yes, there is an "s" at the end of Bourne) and I have identified with the name Bournes since I married my husband David almost 44 years ago.

I am  "Glammie" to 3 wonderful little kids, a name I borrowed from a glamorous grandmother my BFF in Winnipeg.  I am recently a new puppy mom to  "Maia", a tiny black and white chihua/laso.

Ottawa has been our home for 25 years.  David and I are Ottawa Realtors® with Royal LePage and we love helping our clients realize their housing dreams.

We  live in a lovely spot on the Rideau Canal and our views are breathtaking.  It's such an inspiration to my cooking,  A great view deserves  "to die for" plating, that way there are no leftovers, ever!!!

I guess I have always been passionate about cooking, since my family owned Copenhagen Catering in Toronto for decades.  For me cooking is more about knowing, tasting, and feeling what is good than measuring and reading directions and of course my love for international foods, especially (of course since I am Danish) Nordic.  I love to reproduce and tweak images of spectacular dishes.

Thank you so much for being part of this community. There are plenty of ways that you can become more involved.  The plan is perhaps to include a newsletter or if there are some special dishes you'd like.  I'm always open to suggestions.  And perhaps even some valuable real estate tips, for entertaining in your house or condo.

Hoping you love this blog, remember it's new for me and I have a friend in San Diego (Joe) who's always said "Public before Perfect"!!!!

Stay in Touch

This is where my Newsletter will be available.  Look for the first edition in January....it will contain cooking tips and perhaps even some kitchen suggestions for your house or condo. As a Realtor® I know how important the time spent in the kitchen is --- cooking, eating, socializing and for some a place to be when they are working from home.  Ergo, the kitchen has become to some an obsession and to many in our business, the most  valuable room in real estate.  We'll be checking into the trends to keep your kitchen hot!
